From Talking to Walking the Road: How to Implement the Vision

Resilient Transport infrastructure is paramount for social and economic development. Increased frequency and intensity of extreme events have added further pressure to aging transport assets and therefore contributed to a decline in reliability and safety of transport services. To address such development challenge, the Understanding Risk Forum 2022 has designed two technical sessions to provide the audience with a deep discussion on how both public and private sectors are addressing the climate change agenda as well as how international development institutions can play a more relevant role in light of the urgency of the matter. Along with key government representatives and practitioners, the session will focus on short best practice presentations and round table discussions around engineering, planning, financing and policy to highlight the complexity of the topic and the need to address it from a multi-disciplinary and transversal perspective.
