“Seven recommendations for the way forward in coastal resilience in Bangladesh: 1) strengthen operation and maintenance to insure that investments in drainage structures and embankments keep providing benefits to the communities; 2) investing in in-depth knowledge of the coast and make this an integral part of the implementation of interventions; 3) adopting adaptive delta management which embraces flexible decision making; 4) implementing nature-based and hybrid solutions; 5) using risk-sensitive land-use planning; 6) strengthening the adaptive capacity of livelihoods; 7) looking at coastal resilience within the context of overall development.”
