Remaining Connected: Building Resilience in the Transport Sector, Public Sector

By sea, road or air: The Imperative need to promote Transport Resilience
The Global COVID-19 Pandemic along with extreme climate events have shown the need for transport infrastructures to function so basic services and goods are delivered. Supply chain disruptions are tangible results from the prolonged global crises, but one that can be mitigated. Reliable transport assets, proper planning, dedicated financing and business continuity protocols were discussed during the UR 2022 in Florianopolis. A multi-hazard approach along with investment decisions were agreed to be key elements for modern society to mitigate future impacts and better address the climate and disaster risk management agendas.
