Biography

Diogo started his career in August 2003 at the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB), where he took up several positions at the International Affairs Department. He was part of the team in charge of the organization of the Brazilian presidency of the G-20, in 2008, and of the BRICS, in 2019. He was also a participating member of the negotiations that culminated, in 2014, in the BRICS Contingent Reserve Arrangement, the CRA. Between 2010 and 2019, he acted as the Central Bank of Brazil’s direct point of contact with the International Monetary Fund, having led the negotiations on various agreements with the IMF and being responsible for helping to organize the last two Financial Sector Assessment Programs, the FSAP, in 2011/2012 and 2017/2018.
Since 2020, Diogo has been working to help foster initiatives within the Sustainability Dimension of the BCB’s Strategic Agenda, the so-called Agenda BC# – including through the promotion of the BCB’s adherence to the NGFS and to the TCFD as a supporter institution. He is responsible, among other things, for following all initiatives within the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).
