Raquel Lejtreger, University of the Republic of Uruguay – DRR EXPERT ; Architect from the University of the Republic in Uruguay, with a background in housing, territorial planning and disaster risk management. In 2012 she was appointed Deputy Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and Environment of Uruguay. Prior to this, she was ministerial advisor and coordinator of the drafting of the National Housing Plan 2010-2014, which included the National Relocation Plan for families living on flood-prone and/or contaminated land, awarded in 2014 by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for being an inspiring activity as a policy of adaptation to climate change with social inclusion. Raquel has more than 15 years of experience in coordinating regional inter-institutional projects involving participatory processes in the territory.
